The Texas Declaration of Independence

As with the national government, Texas has a Declaration of Independence. It has the same basic structure as the national document, as well as the same goal: to convince the world to support the move Texas is making against the country it is currently part of. We will read through it in class since it is a great way to get comfortable to the cultural differences between Texas and Mexico. The nature of these grievances will help up understand the what governmental structures and policies would dominate the state soon after - and to some degree today.
