What is Politics?

Definitions: 

- Wikipedia:

the set of activities that are associated with making decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations among individuals, such as the distribution of resources or status. The branch of social science that studies politics and government is referred to as political science.


- The British Academy:

what is politics about? One of the classic answers to this question is that politics is about who gets what, when and how. On this view, politics is essentially about settling contestation over the distribution of material goods.


- Open Education:

The art of the exercise of power; the combination of individuals or parties (groups) making decisions that affect others and institutions (i.e., government, legal system, military, police) that governs based on those decisions.


- Britannica:

activities that relate to influencing the actions and policies of a government or getting and keeping power in a government.
