Part of your subject matter this week is the Texas Constitution. You will note in your readings that the document changes. A lot.
As opposed to the United States, Texas - or the area we know call Texas - went through about 9 different constitutions in a 60 year period. And the "final" constitution of 1876 has been amended over 500 times. This November voters will have the opportunity to ratify 13 more.
I want you to read and analyze those proposed changes. Tell me what they would do. Based on your understanding of what a constitution is supposed to do, why is it necessary to amend the constitution to achieve these objectives?
