I want to continue with questions focused on the Supreme Court health care reform arguments from last week. These provide a terrific way to understand various aspects of the judiciary. Soon enough we will be looking at how cases come to the Supreme Court, so to get an idea about how this is done ahead of time, I want you to trace how the case which brought the question of the constitutionality of the individual mandate (the minimum coverage provision) before the court.
The case is called Florida v. Department of Health and Human Services. You can find relevant information here and here, but feel free to look up your own sources.
Again, I want you to detail how this case evolved and what steps it took on its way to the Supreme Court.
