From Forbes: The Year in Health Care Charts

A nice collection. Some highlights:

Which types of physicians are compensated the most? Note that pediatricians are compensated less than any other doctor. If you're in med school and known you'll be shouldering well over $100,000 in debt when you get out, what field are you going to specialize in? Why?



This answers a simple question. Why does health care cost so much in the US? Because Americans are charged more for it. Circular I know, but health care costs far less in most other advanced democracies than it does here.



And despite the fact that we pay more in health care, we don't exactly get more for it. Life expectancy in the US is no better - and is sometimes worse - than that in other advanced democracies.
