Each state has its own legislature - as makes sense since they are critical parts of a republican system of government. Perhaps the most essential one since it is the democratic one.

This is hands down the longest article of the Texas Constitution. It's over 30,000 words long, but there's a reason. All those limits on spending in the document need to be overcome somehow, and that requires constitutional language. We'll try to make sense of it all.
