Some general notes:

Over 2,000 bills were introduced week before the deadline. Over 750 were filed Friday the 8th - the last day bill could be introduced. Some of the last bills filed were some of the more controversial: the school choice / voucher bill, regulations for charter schools, restrictions on abortion, among other topics. Fewer bill were filed this session than in the previous two, about 5,500 total, with just under 4,000 in the House and just under 2,000 in the Senate. Filing in general has been very slow this session.
