This week we look through states constitutions in general, and the Texas Constitution in particular. There are many areas where the Texas and US Constitutions differ, but one I'd like you to look at specifically is how each treats individual rights. While the Bill of Rights was added to the US Constitution as a result of a compromise, the Texas Bill of Rights is listed in Article One of the document. And as with much of the rest of the document, Texas' list is longer and more detailed.
A want you to read each Bill of Rights and note where they are similar and where they differ. Comment as necessary.
