Why I Hate Taylor Swift - Rant of the Day

Notice the seamless quality of this work of art. A stream of consciousness masterpiece.

I am sick and tired of hearing about Taylor Swift on the Internet. Everywhere I go, peopleconstantly sing her praises and talk about how amazing and wonderful she is. She stood up forpoor indie artists! She gives to charity! She poops rainbow and glitter! I am tired of hearingabout her and I think that she is the exact opposite of what everyone thinks she is. She is actuallya fraud. She has absolutely no performing talent at all. She cannot sing. Her vocal range ismediocre at best, and she always sings off key. She certainly cannot dance. Her songwritingskills are very poor. Almost all of her songs are about boys and getting her heart broken, andthey sound as if they were written by a six year old. She has dated every man in Hollywood, andher relationships end quicker than Kim Kardashian's marriages (probably because she is a stage-five clinger). After breaking up, she vindictively trashes her exes in her music, and has the nerveto claim herself as the victim. Unlike many of her fans' claims, she does not care very muchabout them. She threatened to sue many of her fans on Etsy because they were selling homemadeitems with her name on them. She even threatened to sue her former guitar teacher when headvertised that he used to teach her on his website. Taylor Swift controls every aspect of herimage so that other people cannot profit off of her in any way. She even tried to trademarkcertain phrases such as "this sick beat" so that other people cannot use them to sell theirproducts! Her greediness knows no bounds. She made a big deal about Spotify's business modelbecause she felt she wasn't making enough money off of their streaming service (she made $6mil before she removed her entire catalog off of the website), then she shamed Apple intoconforming to her will under the guise of "sticking up for other artists" (even though Applepromised to pay artists a larger share of the profits if they agreed to the free three-month trialprogram, and Apple could be sued for violating anti-trust laws by paying artists out of pocket). She is also very fake and manipulative. She collects "friends" like they are stamps, so that shecan show them off to the world and let everyone know how powerful and popular she is. Someof her so-called friends are not even respectable people (Lena Dunham is a child molester,Selena Gomez is stuck-up and rude and also sucks at singing, and Calvin Harris is a racist, sexist, cheating, douchey a-hole). Also, Taylor Swift is not a feminist, no matter how many times sheclaims that she is. She has a history of slut-shaming women in her music (even though she hasdated an army of men), and recently put out her most angry song yet, Bad Blood, in which shegleefully disses another female artist (who actually did nothing wrong; those backup dancersoriginally belonged to Katy Perry, perhaps she is angry about something else? *cough, cough,John Mayer*). Yes, she does give to charity, but her random acts of kindness usually seem morelike a bad publicity stunt than a move that is genuinely meant to make a difference in other'slives. She once donated $4 mil to the Country Music Hall of Fame (a cause that benefits her; theinstitution initially had no idea what to do with such a large donation), but then gave a meager$1,989 to a fan that was drowning in student debt. That amount hardly pays for a semester'sworth of tuition in most four-year universities, and is equivalent to the title given to her newalbum, 1989 (obviously to promote the album). She often likes to publicize things that she doesfor her fans. Her Youtube channel has videos of her attending a fan's bridal shower, sendingrandom fans Christmas gifts, and secretly inviting her fans to her houses. These videos probablyearned her enormous sums of money, and gave her a lot of free publicity, making her seem like akind, generous person. Lastly, she is highly self-absorbed (her least attractive quality). Hernarcissism is evident on her Tumblr page, where she likes tons of posts that praise her and saythat she is an amazing person, etc. She makes these likes public, so that other people will see them. On her friend's birthday, she posted a photo on Instagram in which the friend was standingfar in the background, with her hunky boyfriend standing right in front of the camera. Obviouslyher goal was to show off her new boyfriend, not to honor her friend on her birthday. Often times,in the photos that she posts of herself with her famous friends, she is right in the center, whereshe is meant to be the center of attention. Her Twitter response to Nicki Minaj's criticism of themusic industry showed how highly she thought of herself, and the gall that she had to "offer"Nicki Minaj a place with her onstage was unbelievable. That basically sums up my rant about Taylor Swift. I am seriously disturbed that parentsthink that she is a good role model for their children and that she is considered to be a good, ortalented person. If the devil were real, I'd say her name is Taylor Swift.

This reminds me of a few articles I read recently about the current state of song writing and recording. It's no big surprise, but a bit depressing anyway.
